A
lovely graceful looking palm with thinner stems and narrower
leaves than its cousin Rhapis excelsa. It is now sadly extinct
in natural habitat in China and is only found in cultivation
where the only plants are male.
Site:
Bright indirect light to light shade. To much sun will scorch
the leaves
Temp:
Average warmth. It not really a tropical palm and does not
mind a coolish spot during winter
Water:
Water well in the growing season. Be careful to let the
compost dry out slightly between watering. Misting will
stop any leaves developing brown tips.
Feeding:
One or twice a season with a week solution of palm food.
Tip:
Only repot when the roots are constricted and then use a
pot only slightly bigger.
