Ficus benjamina

Ficus benjamina is perhaps the best known of the small-leaved varieties. If the plant is getting out hand and needs to be cut back, pruning should be done in late winter and should be approached with caution so as not to damage or cause infection to the plant. It should be carried out over a number of days to:

  1. avoid the plant losing too much sap in one go and
  2. to avoid infections getting into the new cuts.
