Care Information

  • Site

Good light out of the midday sun, east or west facing rooms near the window would work.

  • Temperature

They do not like getting cold. Over the winter try not to let them sit in an area that will get below 15 Celcius.

  • Water

When the top is dry give it a very good soak. They love high humidity so a pebble tray works well.

  • Feeding

Lots of feed all through late spring to mid autumn every two weeks. Every 5-6 weeks over the winter but dilute it more.

  • Tip

to stop it getting all leggy and gangly pinch out the growing tips (mid summer) and it will bush out nicely.

Begonia maculata 'Wightii'

Spotted begonia

One of 'the' houseplants to have at the moment. This is not your average hanging basket begonia but a tropical talking point! The long leaves have a lovely red backing as well as the striging symetrical patterning on the front. Warmth is the key with these plants this along with good light they will thrive.
