Full sun to part shade. Will happily live outside over the warmer months.
Will grow very quickly in a warm spot. With lots of protection in a very very sheltered warm garden it may survive the winter but is better in a conservatory.
Lots and lots over the growing season but really let it dry over the winter.
When growing it can be fed once a week with a balanced soluble feed. If you want it to slow down reduce the frequency.
Pot it up on a regular basis. Watch out for red spider mite it loves this plant!
Previously known as Musella lasiocarpa.
A close relative of bananas, hence the name, although not edible. Originally from the mountains of China and known for its large striking yellow flower which appears during the second year of cultivation, this plant would make an ideal addition to a tropical conservatory collection.
