Care Information

  • Site

Anywhere out of direct sunlight is fine, but if you want to bring the best out of this plant it needs a shady spot with heavily dappled light.

  • Temperature

Keeping it warm is vital to long term success. You have to make sure it doesn't regularly drop below 15 Celsius for sustained periods of time. With this, everything else is secondary.

  • Water

Only water it when the top inch or two of soil is totally dry. This time period will vary a lot based on the time of year.

  • Feeding

Use a well-diluted plant food once every second watering during spring and summer and you will increase the likelihood of the flower making an appearance.

  • Tip

Blackness eminating from the stem to the base of the leaves is likely a symptom of overwatering. Crispy or yellow edges to the leaves indicate underwatering or dry air.

Philodendron 'Narrow'

Narrow Philodendron

This product has no reviews yet.  Write a Review

Part of the enormous and broad philodendron family, this small and charming plant is closely related to Xanadu, Xantal and Pedatum. Characterised by its slim, blade-like leaves and subtle colouration, it prefers a darker spot to many other houseplants and is generally easy to take care of.

Notice how the mature, larger leaves are a darker green than the delicate rosy coral colour of the juvenile leaves at the centre of the plant.

Most years, if given the right conditions, this plant will produce a stunning flower.
