A creeping houseplant with specialized leaves which are the size and shape of small peas. Its trailing stems can grow 2–3 feet and the leaves are 1/4 inch in diameter.

Fast growing and drought tolerant, originating from Southwest Africa. Needing room to trail, they are best positioned in a bright spot avoiding direct sun. It can produce small white flowers with colorful stamens that are said to smell like cinnamon.

The odd shape of the leaves is an adaptation to arid environments, allowing water storage and exposing a minimium amount of surface area (greatly reducing water loss).

Named after British botanist Gordon Douglas Rowley who specialized in Cactaceae and succulents.

Mildly toxic to children and pets if ingested.
