Care Information

  • Site

Medium to bright shade will give this plant the perfect balance of bringing out the vivacious colours and preventing leaf burn.

  • Temperature

As with so many plants, the gorgeous leaves will begin to wilt and die if left in the cold. Keep it warm and the rest is simple.

  • Water

Water generously but not often. The soil should be dry before soaking completely. Adopt a ‘feast and famine’ approach and never stick to a schedule.

  • Feeding

Loves a feed during summer. Not during winter though, as the plant will be in dormancy and the leftover salts from the food will damage the plant.

  • Tip

If you notice any rotting at the base of the plant, remove the infected stem quickly ensuring you get as much out as possible. This prevents it spreading to the rest of the plant.

A remarkable and memorable plant, with tricolour markings across the enormous leaves in a constellation pattern. Almost random splotches of white, green and jade form the wonderful foliage that form this rare and splendid dumb cane.

Certainly not on the market for long, this indirect sunshine loving specimen enjoys periods of dryness between each generous watering and a healthy dose of plant food in the Summer to bring out its marvellous colours. Appreciates high humidity, heat and hates being near radiators and midday sunlight.

A perfect way to begin your collection of the wonderful Dieffenbachia family of houseplants. Just be careful of the toxic sap.
