Care Information

  • Site

    Sunny and as hot as you like.

  • Temperature

    If very dry they will tolerate a low temperature but best over 10 degrees C.

  • Water

    Will happilly dry right out but give them a lot of water over summer. Stop watering around October and leave completely until March.

  • Feeding

    Over the summer feed with a weak cactus feed once a month and stop the beginning of September.

  • Tip

    Don't touch the leaves!

A large group (genus) of well known plants that make for a very charechterful housplants that are very very easy to grow in a sunny spot. The main feature are the large paddle like segments (cladodes) and the colurful fruit. 

Watch out for the spines though, some species have hair thin clusters that can be a bit of a pain!
