Care Information

  • Site

A sunny spot is best, but it is extremely versatile when it comes to light levels. Nowhere too shady though.

  • Temperature

It likes it hot so that the water in the soil can be properly regulated. It will not like to be kept cold, as this can lead to root rot which this plant is prone to.

  • Water

Very infrequently! In its natural environment, droughts are frequent so this should be replicated in your home or office. When watering, totally soak the compost and allow to drain through the base of the pot.

  • Feeding

It does not rely on feeding at all, but a very weak house plant food a few times over summer will certainly help it on its way.

  • Tip

Rotate the plant every now and again to help the direction of the leaves growing towards the sun stay equal.

Snake Plant

Also known as 'Mother in Law's Tongue', as are many other sorts of Sansevieria, this lighter-than-normal snake plant makes an exceptional choice for the bedroom as it is one of the few plants to produce oxygen overnight.

It is also very easy to care for, and will do best if just left alone! The most frequent problems we hear about from customers who've purchased them is a result of overwatering.

Originating in East Africa, it is a very rare plant in the UK and one we are proud to have in stock.
