Amstel King Fig | Ficus binnendijkii

Latin Name: Ficus binnendijkii 'Amstel King'
Plant height (inc. pot) - Pot width

A choice fig for a bright position. Large leaves with a red tint on the new growth adorn this lush robust specimen. A great alternative to the more common weeping fig.

This varietal of binnendijkii (along with the long-leaf Ficus alii that shares the same name) is hard to pronounce, but easy to take care of.As long as it has a bright spot and is allowed to dry out moderately between watering, it is fairly resilient against cold, neglect and pests. It grows remarkably quickly for a fig, and should be pruned back once or twice a year unless you want a truly wild looking tree!
