An absolute stunner with hypnotically pink flat stems. In high light conditions, the gorgeous stems will increase in vibrancy, reaching a feverish magenta colour. Do not expose to direct sun though as the leaves may become scorched and turn slightly yellow.
It can be found spread all over South and Central America, as well as The Caribbean, where insects get attracted to the garish pink of the flowing stems.
Temperature It's quite sensitive to cold so is best kept above 15°C
WateringUnlike many cacti, this plant loves a good drink during summer. When watering, make sure you soak the compost entirely and allow to dry out before watering again. During winter, water very sparingly to avoid root-rot.
Feeding Cactus food during summer. Always follow manufacturer instructions.
Tips Susceptible to mealybug. Check regularly for cotton-wool looking insects and wipe clean periodically.
Light Level The best spot for this is an east facing window for fresh morning sun and protection from midday rays. A window can magnify the heat of sunlight and burn the leaves, so make sure it's not getting hit from above!
